 Tanks storing petroleum and hazardous chemicals must meet minimum standards established by both the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC). DEC’s Hazardous Substances Bulk Storage Program provides guidelines and controls for bulk storage of hazardous chemicals.
