Question I heard that my diabetes may be related to Agent Orange exposure while I served in Vietnam. Will VA provide medical care or compensation for my diabetes?

Answer Diabetes is now considered by VA as a presumptive condition. This makes it easier for an affected veteran to establish service-connection, which may allow monetary compensation benefits, depending on the actual disability. It is also likely to improve the veteran’s priority for VA medical care. Applicants should see their nearest State Veterans Counseling office or county Veterans Service Agency.
