Are public corporations required to register and report if they lobby or employ lobbyists?
The Lobbying Act applies to public corporations who in any calendar year either reasonably anticipate expending, incurring, or receiving, or actually expend, incur, or receive, more than $5,000 of combined reportable compensation and expenses for lobbying activities.
Beginning December 31, 2007, the Lobbying Act also applies to public corporations who lobby unpaid or per diem members of state public authorities, public benefit corporations, boards, commissions and councils.
