What is the Partners in Policymaking Program, and where can I obtain more information (including application, news, etc.) on the program?
Partners in Policymaking is an innovative national model of leadership training for people with developmental disabilities, parents, and family members. It is designed to provide state-of-the art knowledge about issues and policies related to disabilities and to develop participant competencies to become more effective in impacting policy development at all levels. The NYS DDPC has been conducting the Partners in Policymaking Program since 1991 and has recently been joined by The Advocacy Center, a partner in presenting the training. If you are interested in Partners in Policymaking, please contact...Joyce Steel with The Advocacy Center (Rochester, NY), (716) 546-1700, or, Jim Huben with the NYS DDPC (Albany, NY), (518-486-7505.
