What is Kendra's Law and where can I get information about it?

 New York State's Kendra's Law establishes a procedure to obtain a court order for certain individuals to receive and accept outpatient treatment for their mental illness. It provides for assisted outpatient treatment for individuals who, in view of their treatment history and circumstances, are unlikely to survive safely in the community without supervision.
