Are emergency benefits available to victims of crime?

 The New York State Crime Victims Board may deem you potentially eligible for compensation benefits. If you would suffer an undue financial hardship if some immediate payment were not made, the Board may grant an emergency award. Emergency awards may also be granted to sexual assault victims specifically for HIV prophylaxis treatment.
