I found a dog. What should I do?

 The Agriculture and Markets Law states that lost or strayed dogs should be reported to your municipal dog control officer. The dog control officer is responsible to pick up the dog and work to find its owner.

If the dog is wearing its NYS Agriculture and Markets dog identification tag, the dog control officer will be provided the owner’s information to aid in the return of the dog.
