Question How do I find an appropriate alcohol or drug treatment program?

Answer Call 1-800-522-5353. The staff monitoring this toll-free information line are skilled in providing information and referral services for all New Yorkers. For callers outside New York State, contact the Educational Alliance at 212/982-8130.

A directory of Field Offices is available from the web site of the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS). It is important to the success of a client's recovery that he/she receives appropriate treatment services. The considerations in selecting a program could be geographical or finding a program to meet special needs. Regional staff of OASAS are knowledgable about the services in their region. An on-line Provider Search function is also available on the OASAS web site.
