What is the Department of Correctional Services and what is its mission?

 The Department's mission is to operate the state's prison system in a safe, secure and constitutional manner. All of the Department's facilities have been accredited by the independent American Correctional Association, attesting to the fact that each meets nationally-accepted standards for the operation and administration of a prison facility.
