 How do I register my snowmobile in New York State?
 A snowmobile operated in NYS must be registered in NYS. If the snowmobile is registered in another state, it still must be registered in NYS.
A snowmobile is exempt from registration in NYS if:
- the snowmobile is used only on the private property of the snowmobile owner, or
- on private property that the owner of the
snowmobile has a right to use under a contract.
The DMV web site has the information about snowmobiles and registration of snowmobiles in NYS.
