Can I appeal a former employee's claim for unemployment insurance benefits?
As an employer, you have the right to request a hearing whenever you disagree with a determination regarding a claim for benefits filed by one of your former employees.
However to exercise this right, your hearing request must be received by the Department within 30 days of the date the determination was mailed. Your request for a hearing must provide a specific reason for disagreeing with a determination that your former employee is eligible for benefits.
