How do I get the parking permit or license plates that allow me to park in handicapped parking spaces?

 To obtain a permit hang-tag, contact your city, town or village clerk's office, except in New York City, where the NYC Department of Transportation issues State and special New York City parking permits. In NYC, call (718)433-3100 (voice) (718) 433-3111(TTY). Local NYS Department of Motor Vehicles offices issue special license plates. From the 516, 631, 845, and 914 area-codes, call 1-800-342-5368. Elsewhere in New York State, call 1-800-225-5368.
